Gossip Girl Amy Andrews has spotted an interesting story with this duo who worked on Battle in Seattle, "...The Dublin actor has agreed a [sic] part in a new film with Woody Harrelson..." To be produced by the double Oscar winning producer Noel Pearson (For 'My Left Foot' which also received five Academy Award nominations including Best Picture) who is a fellow native of Dublin. The new film is said to be set in South Africa.
And for those that might want to know more about what is currently happening with Stuart Townsend and Charlize Theron, Amy Andrews' article goes on to reveal that that rumoured fateful Mexican Trip "only lasted a day" and left Mr. Townsend with "no real idea why they broke up so suddenly", putting an end to their nine year relationship with the request he move instantly out of the common house. So what was the article she read? I'm guessing it's Barry Egan's where he says of the other business end that the two from Dublin are "currently in talks". There have been a few photosnaps of Charlize Theron out and about L.A. over the last several days.

He brilliantly acted the charismatic Vampire lead, Lestat de Lioncourt whose on screen charms still captivates audiences such that he constantly finds himself dubbed as the most sexiest to have ever donned fangs and cape. Whilst that film was still in the editing room, he met and befriended the beautiful Charlize Theron during the making of Trapped (from Greg Iles's novel, 24 Hours) and the couple have been inseparable since. Not so according to a UK report from their Dailymail.
Todays Dailymail (UK) ran an article showing a picture of Charlize's bare hand. The attached caption reads "Theron's right hand was noticeably ring free as she manned the phones at the 'Hope For Haiti Now' telethon last week." The article talks of the nine-year Charlize Theron / Stuart Townsend romance and how it is considered as one of the most stable unions in showbusiness, and goes on further to state the relationship has come to an end. If anything, we predict many hearts will skip a beat on reading this story. It appears that Charlize Theron has told close friends she decided to split from the Irish actor Stuart Townsend after a Mexican trip at Christmas. And this is why the antique 'commitment ring' that Stuart Townsend gave Charlize Theron (a symbol of their relationship) is missing from her finger. On the eve of production, and whilst there is still no official news, a few news related web sites are currently running with the story that Stuart Townsend has hit up against creative differences with regard to his role in the upcoming Thor movie writes Mike Cidoni. The story has steadily gained momentum as the apparent [two] sources close to the production (follow Associated Press or Huffington Post) also state [again off the record] that Joshua Dallas is ready to step into the role.

Paramount has moved Thor's release date two weeks closer to 6 May 2011. Pirates of the Caribbean (4) 'On Stranger Tides' swiftly claimed Thor's old release slot of 20 May 2011.
The switch occurred after Sony decided to relinquish the esteemed 'first week of summer' as their date for the upcoming "Spider-Man 4" release whilst they suspect current script issues may delay a timely completion.

Citing "creative differences" Peter Jackson had to swap out a twenty six year old Oscar-nominated Ryan Gosling role and re-cast the major role to Mark Wahlberg, ten years Ryan's senior.
The action reminiscent to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy casting when Irish Stuart Townsend was originally enlisted as the character Aragorn but saw the role go to the much senior Danish Viggo Mortensen.

News from marvel.com, Stuart Townsend has been cast to play adventurer Fandral in Marvel's upcoming action-adventure film Thor (God of Thunder) which is to be directed by Kenneth Branagh and to be released May 20, 2011. Other stars cast for the film are Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Samuel L Jackson.
The adventurer Fandral, Hogun The Grim and Volstagg The Valiant all fight alongside Thor. Stuart Townsend's character was based on the public persona of the Tasmanian born screen legend Errol Flynn. Fandral is a suave and skilled fighter who considers himself a ladies man. (Definitely Errol attributes).
In the US we have recently heard Stuart Townsend as one of the voiced characters on the Adult Swim series Robot Chicken.

Yes, it happened. Thought it was time to update you guys on the unnamed Ian Biederman Project. The Pilot shoot took place between the 14 March and 5 April in Toronto. It stars Christina Cole as one Maggie Hill (which also the probable working title for the show), a top cardio-thoracic surgeon who was institutionalized for schizophrenia and tries to return to work. The only way she can prove her worth is by saving the patients nobody else can. Stuart Townsend co-stars as the imaginary boyfriend, Terrence James. Stay tuned.
