In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Grand Opening of Atlantis, The Palm Resort.
According to Access Star Sightings, Charlize Theron and boyfriend Stuart Townsend at the grand opening of the Atlantis, The Palm resort. Other celebs spotted were Mary Kate Olsen, Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan.
Ritu Upadhyay of WWD Issue 11/24/2008 reports, 'This place is unreal,' marveled Theron, wearing a white Roberto Cavalli gown. The actress was visiting the Middle Eastern kingdom for the first time with boyfriend Stuart Townsend. 'We just flew in, so I haven’t seen much yet. But my first impression is awe. Cranes, construction and this red carpet. Pretty amazing.'

32nd Cairo International Film Festival kicks off

Joseph Fahim of Daily News Egypt reports 'Irish actor/director Stuart Townsend presented actress Samira Ahmed with the final award of the evening, who took such opportunity to endorse Hosny’s bid for UNESCO’s top post.'

Frolicking on a Malibu beach recently, Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend were the picture of romantic bliss. But the actress, 33, admits life before Stuart, 35, wasn't always lightheaded. She tells August's UKElle "He got through to me on a level that no one else did. Stuart made me softer. He was one of the few guys who wasn't afraid of me. What he saw was not toughness but vulnerability.
As for the reason she and her partner of seven years have yet to tie the knot, she says, "I want to know that I wake up every morning with him because I want to, not because a piece of paper says so." (more pic pg2)

In other Stu news, the Toronto International Film Festival will host the world premieres of "Battle in Seattle" starring Charlize Theron and Woody Harrelson and Sean Penns Into The Wild. Organizers said the festival which will run from Sept 6th to Sept 15 also has booked North American Premieres for latest films from Andrew Dominik, Todd Haynes, Joe Wright and Paul Haggis, each of which are scheduled to bow first at the Venice International Film Festival Aug 29 - Sept 8 Penn's "Into The Wild" is a fact based portrait of a young man who gives up all luxuries to live in the Alaskan wilderness.

A week from tomorrow (onMay 30th) sees the release ofNight Stalker - The Complete Series, the recent remake of the classicKolchak TV series. Recently TVShowsOnDVD.com owner and webmaster Gord Laceyposted at our blog that he had gotten the chance to interviewNight Stalker (andX-Files) Executive Producer Frank Spotnitz, and that he'll be getting that typed up and posted soon. Now you can meet and greet Spotnitz yourself!
Buena Vista has let us know that Spotnitz will be available at an autograph signing at the West Hollywood Best Buy (1015 N. La Brea, at the corner of Santa Monica and La Brea) on Tuesday, June 30th (same day the set is released) at 7PM local time, and staying until 9PM. Joining him will beNight Stalker star Stuart Townsend (who's played a vampire himself, in case anyone's forgotten, taking the "Lestat" role in the 2002 Anne Rice filmQueen of the Damned). They're also hoping to convince co-star Gabrielle Union to show up as well, but her schedule may not allow for it. But if you're anywhere in the vicinity, drop by that evening and pick up a copy of the set and get some autographs!

THERON BLASTS SPLIT REPORTS
CHARLIZE THERON has fired back at weekend reports she has split from boyfriend STUART TOWNSEND, insisting the pair are still together. The actress has been spotted alone at various recent awards ceremonies, including the Oscars - where she took her mum as her date - but she insists that's simply because her Irish lover has been away working. And following the latest Hollywood split announcement, Theron's publicist, AMANDA SILVERMAN, has released a statement, saying, "Stuart and Charlize have not broken up. "Next week everyone will be calling me saying they were married. We can't win."
